Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are an incredible way to broaden and deepen your Whole Horse and Hoof Care Education at an accelerated rate. Apprenticeships last 12-24 months; each apprenticeship is customized to the interests and needs of the apprentice, but all include a combination of the following activities

• Multiple ride-along days to both observe and discuss the many aspects of hoof care one-on-one.

• Hoof Anatomy and essential care for healthy hooves.

• Horse Handling: communication and relationship development for optimal hoof care experiences.

• Tools of the trade: the essential five + many other goodies that make the job more fun and/or easier.

• Recommended reading, viewing, and listening homework

• Physical fitness: trimming is hard work, but is made easier with a short, daily strength and flexibility routine.

Every student is unique. It’s my goal to help you develop the skills and confidence to trim your own horses or start your own business. Together, we will create a measurable and manageable plan, track your progress, and keep you motivated towards your goals.

Apprenticeship Cost: $6,000, paid in monthly installments for the duration of the apprenticeship. A 10% discount is offered for full payment at the start of the apprenticeship.

Time Commitment: 4 days/month for 12 months or 2 days/month for 24 months + required homework and self-study hours.
